Richard Rummel received his BS from Hampden-Sydney College (Hampden-Sydney, Virginia, United States) in 1982. He began his career in medical sales with Johnson & Johnson, Codman Surgical Instrument division in 1988.
In 1990, he was promoted to a neurosurgical sales specialist and then as a trainer in 1992. Mr. Rummel has won many awards and was consistently a leader in these positions. In 1997, he began work with Elekta, Inc. and was responsible for neurosurgical capital equipment sales in six states.
In 1998, Mr. Rummel founded Ohio Valley Surgical, Inc. as a manufacturer’s representative company that specializes in medical product sales that include Siemens Medical Systems mobile X-ray products, point of care ultrasounds, surgical single use products, and products for healing. OVSi has a long history of continued growth and profits since its incorporation.
Ohio Valley Surgical has also won many top sales awards from Siemens, Codman and MicroAire since its incorporation. Mr. Rummel has become a specialist in strategic market analysis and market development with particular attention to changes brought on by the affordable care act. Mr. Rummel also has developed and implemented a national sales organization for companies who wish to sell their products in the United States.
